The Middle East

The Middle East has a way of surprising you. It is a region where thousands of years of history sit alongside a rapidly changing present.

You can walk through the Roman ruins of Jerash, discover Hegra and the ancient Nabataean heritage of AlUla, visit Lebanon’s extraordinary temples and archaeological sites, or follow the traces of ancient trade routes across the region.

But there is another side to it. Swim and dive in the Red Sea, go fishing along the coast of Oman, hike through its mountains and wadis, discover the souks and food of its cities, or retreat to places like Shebara and the new generation of desert and coastal resorts redefining luxury in the region.

It is this contrast, ancient and entirely new, that makes the Middle East so fascinating to explore.
